My Experience at the World Photographic Cup in Quito, Ecuador

I recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Quito, Ecuador, for the World Photographic Cup at the Zerolat Expo. Representing the Slovak national photographic team was a proud moment for me, and it was an experience I will always cherish.

During my stay, I took some time to explore the city, soaking in the local culture and scenery. Quito is a place rich in history and natural beauty, and I made sure to visit several iconic landmarks and hidden gems throughout the city. The streets were alive with energy, and I couldn’t help but capture the essence of it all through my lens.

One of the standout aspects of this trip was the food. Ecuadorian cuisine is a delightful mix of flavors, and I had the pleasure of enjoying a wide variety of local dishes. From savory street food to elegant restaurant meals, I was constantly impressed by the quality and taste. It's safe to say I ate more than my fair share during my time there!

But what truly made this trip unforgettable was the hospitality. I have traveled a lot over the years, but the warmth and generosity I experienced in Ecuador were unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. The people were kind, welcoming, and eager to share their culture with me, making me feel at home in a foreign land.

In the gallery, you’ll find some of the shots I took with my trusty Leica Q2. These photos capture just a small glimpse of the beauty I experienced in Quito, and I hope they give you a sense of the magic of this city.

I’m already looking forward to the next adventure, but Quito and the memories from this trip will always hold a special place in my heart.

Enjoy the gallery!
