On October 19, 2024, the 5th "View & Appreciate" exhibition, organized by Shangtufang, debuted at Beijing International Photography Week 2024. The event, held at the China Millennium Monument, featured photography works from the heads of organizations from ten European countries. This collaborative exhibition highlighted cross-cultural dialogue between China and the West through the medium of photography, showcasing unique artistic expressions and contemporary perspectives.
I am both proud and honored to be part of this prestigious exhibition with my photo series about the gypsies in Slovakia. It’s a deeply personal project that reflects the rich culture and lives of this community, and I’m thrilled to see it featured on an international platform like Photo Beijing.
Additionally, Beijing International Photography Week 2024, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipal Government, featured a wide array of exhibitions, talks, and cultural exchanges. With over 5,400 works by 2,600 photographers, the event spanned multiple venues across the city. Themed "Imagery: Life & Eternity," it aimed to foster international cultural exchange while celebrating the enduring allure and vitality of photographic art.
Key events included the "Silk Road Youth Photography Exhibition," the "China-Russia Silk Road on Ice" exhibition, and digital, immersive installations that pushed the boundaries of traditional exhibition formats. The festival, running until October 28, continues to solidify Beijing's role as a global center for photographic art.
